• To share SketchUp Pro among employees in your business, you can purchase a network license.
• Students and schools may qualify for our educational licensing program. Nonprofit organizations may qualify for educational discounts, too.
• SketchUp Make users can download the SketchUp Pro free trial, buy a SketchUp Pro license, and then authorize the license in SketchUp Pro.
• You can upgrade your existing SketchUp Pro license to the current version. If you purchased your license from a reseller or with an education discount, see Upgrading your license later in this article.
• You can subscribe to the SketchUp for Web - Shop subscription for access.

Understanding your license type

You can use SketchUp Pro with a single-user license or a network license.

Here’s what you need to know about each license type:

• A single-user license works on up to two computers. Your constellation of devices doesn’t matter: You may have a computer running Windows and another running Mac OS X. You may want to download SketchUp Pro to both your desktop and laptop computers. As long as your computers are compatible with SketchUp Pro, your single-user license works on two computers.
  If you’re using a single-user license on two computers and want to move one instance of SketchUp Pro to a new or different computer, you need to remove the license on one computer before you can use it on another. See Authorizing and Removing a License for details.
  You receive a single-user license if you purchased an individual license at full price or have a student, educator, or laptop license through our education license program.
• A network license needs an active Internet connection or to be checked out. A network license has a pool of seats that some number of computers can use at the same time. For the license to work, your computer needs to have an active Internet connection as you run SketchUp Pro, or you need to check out a license seat. Like a single-user license, you can use a network license to run SketchUp Pro on a Windows or Mac OS X computer. Businesses with 10 or more copies of SketchUp Pro are eligible for a network license. Also schools with a network lab license are using a network license that expires after a year.

Upgrading your license

SketchUp licenses are specific to a version of SketchUp Pro (such as SketchUp Pro 2016 or SketchUp Pro 2015). To upgrade your current SketchUp Pro license to the most recent version of SketchUp Pro, follow these steps:

1. Look up your license information. (See Finding Your License Information for help.)
2. Check whether you can use the SketchUp Pro License Wizard.
   • If your serial number ends in ALW, alm, EUW, eum, UKW, or ukm, then you purchased you license directly from SketchUp and can use the wizard. Skip to Step 3.
   • If your license ends in anything else, then your current license is from a reseller. The Search for Reseller tool can help you contact your reseller about purchasing an upgrade.
   • If you purchased an education license directly from SketchUp, contact our Education Team to upgrade the license. You can’t upgrade your license via the upgrade wizard.
3. Go to the SketchUp Pro License Wizard to purchase an upgrade.
4. After you purchase the upgrade, check your email for new license information and a link to download the latest version of SketchUp Pro.
5. Download, install, and authorize SketchUp Pro, using the new license information from your email.

Tip: If you’re active in the upgrade, maintenance, and support plan, you receive an email with new license information after a new version of SketchUp Pro is released. Download and install the new version of SketchUp Pro, authorize the license, and begin using the new version of SketchUp. After you authorize the new version, your old SketchUp license expires after 60 days. Here’s how this impacts the way your license works:

• If you have a single-user license, the older version of SketchUp continues working on other computers, but you can’t use the old license to authorize new computers. Be sure to upgrade and add the license to those computers in order to continue using SketchUp Pro.
• If you have a network license, your old license stops working 60 days after the first network user authorizes SketchUp Pro with your upgraded license.

Cancelling a license

Your SketchUp purchase is governed by these terms and the EULA for your version which can be accessed from the about dialog in the product.

You have 14 days from the time of purchase (not the time of download) to return a SketchUp Pro commercial license for a full refund. After 14 days, you cannot obtain a refund.

To cancel your SketchUp Pro license, contact the Customer Support team.

Please read this End User License Agreement (“EULA”) before You purchase a License Key for the Sketch Mac App and subsequently download and use the Sketch Mac App.

By purchasing a License Key and/or downloading and using the Sketch Mac App, You agree, without reservation to be bound by the terms of this EULA. If You do not agree with the terms of this EULA, please do not purchase a License Key and/or download and use the Sketch Mac App.

If You accept the terms and conditions in this EULA on behalf of a company or other legal entity, You warrant that You have full legal authority to accept the terms and conditions in this EULA on behalf of such company or other legal entity, and to legally bind such company or other legal entity.

You may not accept this EULA if You are not of legal age to form a binding contract with Sketch.

Definitions

In this EULA the expressions below shall have the meaning assigned to them in this clause, unless the context requires otherwise:

• “Activate” turning the Trial version into the Full version of the same application with the License Key provided by Sketch;
• “Contributor” You when You are assigned the role of contributor via the Sketch collaboration tool Sketch for Teams;
• “Contributor version” the license to Use the Sketch Mac App for the term that You qualify as a Contributor;
• “Documentation” the detailed information about the Sketch Mac App, its features and the system requirements as made available on the website of Sketch, as amended from time to time;
• “Full version” the license for the Sketch Mac App for the term specified on the webpage of the store where You purchase the license, or in any applicable agreement concerning the purchase of the license (as stand-alone product or as part of a subscription) to Use the Sketch Mac App;
• “License Key” an unique code provided by Sketch, which enables You to activate the Trial version, Full version or Contributor version by entering the code into the Sketch Mac App and to subsequently use the Sketch Mac App during the applicable license term;
• “Open Source Software” any software that requires as a condition of use, copying, modification and/or distribution of such software that such software or other software incorporated into, derived from or distributed with such software (a) be disclosed or distributed in source code form, and (b) be licensed for the purpose of making and/or distributing derivative works, and (c) be redistributable at no charge;

• “Sketch Mac App” any software application and/or all of the contents of the files and/or other media, including software setup files, licensed to You by Sketch, including any Updates;
• “Trial version” the license for the Sketch Mac App for the term of 30 days to Use the Sketch Mac App for the sole purpose of testing and evaluating the Sketch Mac App;
• “Updates” any modified versions and updates of, and additions to the Sketch Mac App (excluding upgrades of the Sketch Mac App);
• “Use” the access, download, install, copy or get benefit from using the Sketch Mac App in accordance with the documentation;
• “You” you, the final and ultimate user of the Sketch Mac App or the authorized representative of a company or other legal entity that will be the final and ultimate user of the Sketch Mac App, and the company or other legal entity that will be the final and ultimate user of the Sketch Mac App, if applicable.

General

1. This EULA applies to any licenses granted to You by Sketch for the use of the Sketch Mac App.
2. By purchasing a License Key for the Sketch Mac App and/or downloading and using the Sketch Mac App, You enter into this EULA with Sketch.
3. This EULA may be modified from time to time. Sketch will notify you of such modifications on its website or otherwise, e.g. by using the email address used for the provision of the License Key. Any modifications to this EULA shall only apply upon acceptance by You.

License

1. Sketch grants You a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited, revocable license to Use the Sketch Mac App in accordance with this EULA. Sketch reserves all rights not expressly granted to You.
2. Sketch is and remains the owner of any intellectual property rights with respect to the Sketch Mac App. You shall not acquire any ownership to the Sketch Mac App as result of Your purchase of the License Key or Your Use of the Sketch Mac App.

Permitted use and restrictions

1. In order to be able to install the Sketch Mac App and receive Updates and upgrades, Your computer shall have access to the Internet and shall meet the system requirements described in the Documentation that can be found on the webpage: https://www.sketch.com/updates/.
2. You may Use the Sketch Mac App on one computer only, unless You have purchased (a) a volume license or (b) more than one Full version or Trial version. In the event You have purchased a volume license or more than one Full version or Trial version, the number of computers You may Use the Sketch Mac App on shall not exceed the number of the Full version or Trial version purchased. If You exceed the limit, Sketch may block the License Key.
3. You shall Use the Full version, Trial version or Contributor version in accordance with applicable laws and shall not:
   1. use the Trial version on any system where the Trial version was previously Used and expired;
   2. rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, sublicense or otherwise commercially exploit the License Key, the Full version, the Trial version or the Contributor version;
   3. assign the License Key, the Full version, the Trial version or the Contributor version without prior written approval of Sketch;
   4. Use the Full version, Trial version or Contributor version for any unlawful or illegal activity, or to facilitate an unlawful or illegal activity;
   5. delete or alter any disclaimers, warnings, copyright or other proprietary notices accompanying the Sketch Mac App; or
   6. copy (except as otherwise provided in this EULA), adapt, translate, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, modify or create derivative works of the Sketch Mac App and the License Key or any parts thereof, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
4. Sketch may modify the Sketch Mac App at any time at its sole discretion and without notice to You, for example to comply with applicable law or a court order, to avoid a third party infringement claim or to provide Updates and upgrades.
5. Certain components of the Sketch Mac App are Open Source Software and licensed under the terms of the applicable license(s) of the Open Source Software. You shall adhere to these terms and conditions, which can be found via the webpage: https://www.sketch.com/acknowledgements/.

Maintenance and support

1. Sketch will notify You of any available Updates and upgrades.
2. You will be entitled to receive Updates free of charge:
   1. during a period of twelve (12) months upon purchasing the License Key for the Full version. In order to receive Updates after this twelve months’ period, You will need to renew your License Key for the Full version, or
   2. during the period that You qualify as a Contributor.
3. You may need to pay an additional fee in order to be able to download an upgrade.
4. You can download available Updates and upgrades from the website of Sketch.
5. Any maintenance and support provided by Sketch, including the provision of Updates and upgrades, will be provided in an adequate way on an “as is” basis without any warranty, as soon as reasonably practicable, subject to availability of personnel.

Use of data

1. Sketch and its subsidiaries may periodically collect and use technical and related data concerning the Sketch Mac App You have licensed, including about the version number of the Sketch Mac App You have installed and about the system You have installed the Sketch Mac App on. Sketch will use such data to facilitate maintenance and support with respect to the Sketch Mac App, to improve its products and to provide further services or technologies to You.
2. Sketch may process personal data with respect to You, if and to the extent necessary to provide the License Key, to provide maintenance and support to You with respect to the Sketch Mac App and to comply with its obligations under this EULA. To the extent Sketch will process personal data, it will comply with its obligations under applicable data protection law. Please see our privacy statement for more details on the processing of Your personal data that Sketch has collected and received through its website.

Disclaimer

1. You Use the Sketch Mac App at Your own risk and the entire risk as to satisfactory quality, performance and accuracy is with You.
2. The Sketch Mac App and accompanying documentation are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranty - express or implied - of any kind, and Sketch specifically disclaims the warranty of fitness for a particular purpose. No oral or written advice given by Sketch, its dealers, distributors, agents or employees shall create a warranty or in any way increase the scope of this warranty and You may not rely upon such information or advice.

Liability limitation

1. The liability of Sketch and any third party that has been involved in the creation, production, or delivery of the Sketch Mac App for all damages arising out of or in any way relating to the Full version, the Trial version, the Contributor version, the License Key, the Sketch Mac App and/or this EULA shall in no event exceed the total amount of $ 99.
2. Sketch and any third party that has been involved in the creation, production, or delivery of the Sketch Mac App are under no circumstances liable for consequential or indirect damages (including damage for loss of profit, business interruption, loss of data, and the like arising out of the use or inability to use the Sketch Mac App).
3. The limitations of liability referred to in clause 9.1 and 9.2 shall not apply in the event that: (i) any negligence on the part of Sketch leads to death or physical injury or (ii) damages arise from the intent, willful misconduct or gross negligence of Sketch or the management of Sketch.

Termination

1. This EULA will continue to be in force until the expiry or termination of the Full version, the Trial version or the Contributor version.
2. The Full version or Trial version will terminate automatically at the end of the applicable license term, unless renewed or Activated prior to the end of the applicable license term.
3. The Contributor version will terminate automatically when you are no longer a Contributor.
4. Sketch is entitled to terminate the Full version, the Trial version or the Contributor version by blocking the License Key during the license term with immediate effect and without prior notice in the event You fail to comply with the terms in this EULA, in the event You fail to pay Your (subscription) fee for the License Key within the applicable payment term, in the event Your (subscription) fee for You as Contributor has been failed to pay within the applicable payment term, or in the event Sketch is required to do so by law or an order of an applicable court.
5. Upon termination of the Full version, the Trial version or the Contributor version, You shall cease all use of the Sketch Mac App.
6. You acknowledge that the provisions of this EULA, which by their nature are intended to survive termination, will remain in effect after termination of this EULA.

Governing law and disputes

Sketchup License Free

1. This EULA shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, excluding its conflicts of law rules.
2. Any dispute between Sketch and You shall exclusively be submitted to the competent court in The Hague, the Netherlands.
